I'm trying to use the uploader in the Header section. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. It seems I have to struggle with it and then don't know how it got uploaded last time. I've been at this for awhile and am pulling my hair out. Can you help?

I think my question got skipped. I really need help with this as soon as possible. I am using Firefox and when I upload nothing happens. I've been able to do it before, on this same blog, but now nothing happens. I rechecked the dimensions so that's not it. I'm on windows Vista, could that be part of the problem?

Sorry, I've answered this question twice now and obviously I've clicked the wrong button each time and not saved it! :(

How to upload the header is set out in the readme.pdf.  In addition, there is a video on it here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v…..JhYnXmYjZY

About 1 minute in you will see the instructions for uploading your own header.

In summary:

If you have a header graphic make sure you change the width of the site to suit your header in the global tab and click the show header radio button on the layout

change the height of the header to suit your  header height in the header tab.

In the header section upload your header from your computer and click upload

In the header drop down menu choose image rather than gradient etc

if it is a small image that you need to tile choose repeat from the drop down menu.  If it is a full width banner choose no repeat.

refresh the browser.  You will see the header in your header area. select it using the radio button click the save changes button

I use both Firefox and Windows Vista and Hostgator without problems.

If you are experiencing problems possible causes are:

1) you  have not selected show header in the global tab

2) you have not selected image in the header tab drop down menu

3) the header images file on the server is not writeable ie the permissions are not set to 755

Hope that helps

Thanks Leanne, I was doing all those things correctly. I just noticed that your header files are png so I just changed mine from a jpg to a png and it uploaded… no problem. I had a jpg file in there before so I don't know why it didn't like the new one. Anyway, that's what solved it finally. My blog know has a “head”er. Smile
