Just trying to discover whether it is possible to have the pages menu displayed in the left sidebar, but not as a list but as buttons, as they would be if they were in the header menu, that change colour when clicked on, does that make sense.
Here is my client's partly finished site and he wants the page menu down the side so I have made buttons to accommodate: (url removed for privacy)
Just wanted to check I am not missing something.

every site that you do makes me envious!!! short answer is no that’s a css nav fancy pants feature in the header. To achieve in the sidebar what could you do is an image with hyper links to the page etc ie change sidebar color to blue, do button graphic with Home etc insert image in text widget linking to that page. Hope that makes sense? I’m going to remove your url so no-one gets jealous of your graphic skills
